About Dr. Christina Charette

Dr. Christina Charette is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Georgia and North Carolina. She has over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings. She has completed psychological evaluations of hundreds of children suspected of Autism and ADHD in Georgia and North Carolina over the past 5 years. She has supervised other clinicians in psychological testing and given presentations on working with children with Autism at state conferences. She has advanced training in the ADOS-2 (the gold standard assessment tool for Autism Spectrum Disorder) through Emory.

In her free time, Dr. Christina Charette enjoys camping with her son, volunteering with the Boys Scouts, playing with her grandbaby, gardening, cooking, and restoring vintage cars.

Discovering Inner Peace with SPARKLE

At Sparkle Psychological, our evaluations of children ages 1-5 include an initial in-person session that takes approximately 2 hours. At least one parent/caregiver and the child must be present for this. Ideally, no other children/siblings are brought to this appointment. At this time, in-personal sessions are only offered on Fridays and Saturdays.

A second session will be scheduled 1-2 weeks after the first one, and that can be in-person or virtual, and the child does not have to be present. The second session is to go over the findings and recommendations, and to provide the written report.

Components of the evaluation

For psychological evaluations, we provide:

An extensive diagnostic interview of the child background, development, and functioning.
A variety of standardized testing assessments to determine the information needed to inform a diagnosis.
All work done by an experienced psychologist in a comfortable child-friendly setting.
An opportunity for parents to get their questions answered.
Written report with recommendations for appropriate next steps.

Fees and Insurance

$1200 total/ $600 initial session and $600 feedback session and report

Sparkle Psychological provides flat-rate private pay evaluations with a total cost of $1200. Half of the total payment is due at the initial appointment, and the balance is due at the final appointment. This means a $600 payment is due at the first appointment, and the $600 balance is due at the final appointment before the report is finalized and released to you.

Additional cost

$125 an hour

Any tasks beyond the initial testing session and feedback/report session are billed at $125 an hour and must be discussed/approved in advanced. Examples of tasks include collateral contacts with treatment/school personnel or additional family members, completing paperwork for waivers or Social Security, and/or court testimony.

Methods of payment

Cash and major credit cards to include Health Savings Account cards are accepted.

Insurance

Sparkle Psychological DOES NOT accept any type of insurance. This provides you and your child with confidentiality, as our treatment does not need to be audited or reported to an insurance company and you can choose when/who share results with. We can provide documentation of our work together that can be submitted to your insurance company for possible out of network reimbursement, should you choose, but it is your responsibility to see if/what covered. We do accept Health Savings Account car
